After winning the final of the Saint-Barth Kids Trophy, Mahé Anasthase flew to France with a delegation from the French West Indies and French Guiana to compete in the national team championship in Balma, in the 9-and-under division. A competition in which he was able to take on the cream of French tennis. Even though he didn’t come home with the trophy, Mahé held his own by defeating a top-10 player and pushing a top-5 national player to a tiebreak.
“This is a first for him at this level of competition,” said ASCCO President Ludovic Questel. “This wonderful experience highlights the work he’s done with his coach, Grégory Gumbs, but also the work that still needs to be done to reach the elite.”
