Saint-Barth - Basket Pelican's

Basketball - The little Pelican's fine-tune their preparation

Basketball players from Saint-Martin (AS Phenicks and RCM Ballertz Club) and Saint-Barth (Les Pelican's) in the under-11 age group gathered on Saturday November 15 from 11am to 4pm on the Plaine des Jeux court in Saint-Jean. It was a friendly get-together, but there was also a competitive aspect, as Pelican's president Pascal Peuchot explains. Each team played five matches," he sums up. The aim was to test the players and find out their level before putting the teams together. The aim was to have a balanced championship with three teams from Saint-Martin and one from Saint-Barth. "Competition in the various age categories is due to start in early January. "We organized the same tournament for the under-9s last week," explains Pascal Peuchot. Whatever their level, it was with the enthusiasm of their youth that the players took part in this friendly meeting. In fact, long after the final whistle, there were still a good fifteen of them cavorting around with ball in hand, trying to score baskets. "They could be out there for hours," laughs a father sitting on the edge of the court.
