Gendarmerie operation reveals traffic offences

The Saint-Barthélemy Gendarmerie organized an enforcement operation last Friday evening, which lasted well into the night. With the support of the local police and the dog team, numerous checks were carried out on road users as part of the fight against addictive behavior. As a result, five people were found to have been driving while under the influence of alcohol, and one was found not to have a driving licence or insurance. Gendarmes were also on hand in Gustavia and Saint-Jean for the late closing of shops during the night-time session organized by the shopkeepers' association and the Tourism Committee.
