The elected representatives of the Territorial Youth Council (CTJ) continue to demonstrate their interest and commitment to improving living conditions on the island. But they cannot do everything on their own. Therefore, this Saturday, May 16, the young council members of the Environment Committee are calling on the public to join them in cleaning up the beaches of Grands Galets (Shell Beach), Public, and Corossol. A large-scale cleanup that, unfortunately, remains essential. Just like the ones organized periodically throughout the year by various organizations (Island Nature Experiences, Rotary Club, Lions Club, etc.). Because there are still many people who show little respect for their environment. Aware of this lack of civic-mindedness on the part of some of their elders, the CTJ council members intend to roll up their sleeves and get their hands in the sand to pick up the trash carelessly left on the beaches. There is no doubt they will have the support of their classmates, whether elected officials or not. As for responsible adults, they are also expected at 8 a.m. this Saturday, May 16, at the entrance to Grands Galets Beach in Gustavia, to lend a hand to the children.
