ATE launches its new website

For lovers and enthusiasts of biodiversity, whether from Saint-Barthélemy or elsewhere, the new website of the Agence territoriale de l'environnement could quickly become a reference. While the address hasn't changed(www.agencedelenvironnement.fr), the content is now very attractive.
Thanks to the combined efforts of Cécile Berton, Emma Tinelli and the ATE staff, the slightly outdated and not very interactive site has been transformed into a mine of information. The first serious new feature is access to all the Agency's reports and other media. We wanted to give the site a facelift so that we could better detail our missions, but also so that people could access all the forms they need to carry out their procedures online, and to make a report easily," explains ATE Director Sébastien Gréaux. The idea is also to offer games for children. "Discover, understand, get involved
The site is divided into six main areas. They are easy to distinguish, as they appear at the top of the opening page. The first invites you to discover the island's biodiversity. On the beaches, at sea, on land, on the islets, at Fort Carl, on the ponds... An interactive map lets you explore the flora and fauna, while tips for preserving the environment are distilled in the tab entitled "At home". With just a few clicks, all information is accessible, with cross-references to more specific articles. Fishing is not forgotten either, with a page devoted to everything you need to know about fishing in Saint-Barth.
The second section covers the natural heritage (natural environments, geology) and scientific missions. In this tab, readers can immerse themselves in monitoring, newsletters and scientific publications. Reports, brochures, models - it's hard to get more comprehensive than this. We also explain the purpose of this monitoring," insists Sébastien Gréaux. There's a lot of information in every field. "
A third entry shows the different ways of taking action and getting involved in preserving biodiversity. It includes information on work being carried out on native and endogenous species, recommendations on plants that can be planted in a garden, and so on. This is where parents, or children themselves, can find games, comic strips, posters, videos and much more content that's both fun and educational.
Finally, there's a tab where you can find out more about the ATE, another devoted to all the subjects surrounding the Nature Reserve, and a last one grouping together all the official publications and various forms. The site also provides information on available grants for photovoltaic panels. Not forgetting, on the opening page, a small sign in the bottom right-hand corner that allows you, via the WhatsApp application, to alert the Agency to any environmental emergency.
A new site to browse, without moderation.
