Ten young people from the Overseas Territories Committee of the French Youth Parliament are organizing an art contest as a way to highlight local realities and build bridges between all French territories, from the overseas territories to mainland France.
This first art contest, themed “Water in the Overseas Territories,” is open to all young people between the ages of 14 and 19 who wish to share their perspectives on the Overseas Territories. “We welcome your perspective to share stories, memories, or a different point of view,” the organizers note.
Whether you’re more into audiovisual creation or a pro at writing in iambic pentameter, rest assured there’s something for everyone! The Overseas Territories Commission has gone big and is offering four contests in different disciplines: photography, writing, audiovisual, and visual arts (drawing, painting, illustration, collage). The winner of each discipline will receive a €100 gift card to a cultural store near their home.
To participate, you must be between 14 and 19 years old and submit your application package—consisting of a copy of your ID, the completed and signed application form, and your artistic work—to the email address: pfje.commission.outre-mer@etik.com by midnight on April 30, 2026. Results will be announced on May 16, 2026.
The rules can be found on the Jeunes pour l’Eau website.
