Discover the island's professions at the Forum des métiers this November 12

No longer will the event be held every two years. From now on, the Forum des métiers will take place every year. This Wednesday, November 12, some 70 companies are expected to take part, representing over a hundred professions. "These are the sectors that can be found on the island," explained Grégory Guérot, head of training at the Chambre Économique Multiprofessionnelle (Cem), the event's organizer, on November 3.
The Forum will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Collège Mireille Choisy. Some of the stands, for the catering professions, will be located in the canteen. The event is open to "all interested parties", "with no age limit, whether they be pupils, students, trainees or professionals.Whether you are a pupil, student, undergoing vocational training, retraining or looking for a job," writes Cem in a press release. "The Forum provides an opportunity to discover different professions, meet professionals and make initial contact with companies," adds Grégory Guérot. An approach that can prove useful when looking for an internship or apprenticeship contract, for example. Between 650 and 700 visitors are expected to visit the stands this year, according to the head of Cem's training department.
