Start of the school year in September 2026

The Department of National Education for Saint Barthélemy and Saint Martin informs students currently enrolled in a private school not under contract with the government or in home schooling who wish to enroll in a public school for the 2026–2027 school year that they are invited to complete the registration form for the academic assessment.
This registration form can be downloaded from the Guadeloupe Academic Region website or picked up at the National Education Department office, 2nd floor, Mall West Indies, Marigot, Saint Martin.
Complete applications must be submitted by Tuesday, May 12, 2026.
For your information, Service Memorandum No. 81-173 of April 16, 1981 governs the admission of students from non-contract private schools into the public school system. When a family enrolls a child in a non-contract private school and wishes for the child to transfer to the public school system, certain requirements apply:

- The family must live in the French part of Saint Martin;
- The child must take a test to assess their level;
- Following this test, the family does not choose the school they want but must adhere to the school districting system, which applies equally to everyone.
