Ulis" students and the school newspaper club on a trip to Montreal

Nine students from collège Mireille Choisy took off for Montreal (Canada) on Sunday May 11. The aim of their trip wasn't to take up residence in the big city of Quebec. In fact, for six students from the Ulis class (Unité localisée pour l'inclusion scolaire) and three from the Journal Club, it was a journalistic, historical and cultural trip. To do this, they went to meet a speaker with a diploma in journalism from the University of Quebec, and also looked at the consequences of colonization on native populations, drawing a parallel with what may have happened in the West Indies. The students also visited museums and the planetarium, where they learned about black holes and the creation of the galaxy.
The delegation returned to Saint-Barthélemy on Sunday May 18. They already had their work cut out for them. In fact, the little reporters have to report on every stage of their stay in the school newspaper, entitled “Ulistrissime”. And they'll be illustrating the whole story with photographs taken on site with the equipment they've taken on board for the occasion. It's worth noting that the students helped finance their trip by selling cakes at various events, including the Saint-Barthélemy market. This demonstrates their motivation and involvement in the project.
