Saint-Barth - stele crash air caraibes

A tribute to the victims of the Air Caraïbes crash

Twenty-five years ago, on March 24, 2001, Air Caraïbes Flight TX 1501 crashed behind a house in the Public neighborhood, killing twenty people: the passengers and crew, as well as the homeowner, Augustin Questel. While time and the legal system have moved on from the most tragic accident Saint-Barth has ever known, the commemoration of this sad date remains relevant today. To ensure we do not forget, this Tuesday, March 24, the anniversary of the crash, Air Caraïbes and the Collectivité are organizing a ceremony beginning at 5 p.m. in front of the memorial in Public. The ceremony will feature speeches, a wreath-laying ceremony, and a Mass celebrated by Father Rulx-André Alcineus.
