Rates and regulations for the new impound lot

On December 10, the elected members of the Executive Council of the Collectivité (Xavier Lédée, Marie-Hélène Bernier, Francius Matignon, Alexandra Questel, Maxime Desouches, and Bettina Cointre—Marie-Angèle Aubin was absent) unanimously voted in favor of the fee schedule accompanying the launch of the new territorial impound lot in Petite Saline (JSB 1645). This decision was published on December 15 on the Collectivité's website.
Impound fees for light vehicles weighing 3.5 tons or less are €95 for the initial operation, €200 for removal, €29 per day of storage, and €450 for destruction. For two-wheeled vehicles and light quadricycles (less than 500 kg), the fee is €65 for the initial operation, €115 for removal, €10 per day of storage, and €195 for destruction.
Vehicles that are in violation, abandoned, or causing a nuisance may be impounded. Any items found in the vehicle at the time of seizure will be listed in an inventory.
Access to the impound lot is restricted. Owners of towed or impounded vehicles may only enter the lot with an authorized agent and during opening hours: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. by appointment and without appointment from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., as well as Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. without appointment. The owner must present themselves with proof of identity, a registration certificate, and a document certifying payment of the removal, storage, and operating costs. All these steps must be completed within the legal time limits.
After the date of notification of impoundment, the owner has between ten and fifteen days to recover their vehicle. Otherwise, it will be destroyed or sold at auction. If the market value of the vehicle, after appraisal, is estimated to be less than €726, it will be destroyed within ten days. If its estimated value is higher, it will be considered abandoned after fifteen days and sold at auction.
