As part of “Ecology, Environment, and Biodiversity Week,” taking place from June 1 to 6, Paprec Énergies is opening the doors of the Ouanalao Public Environment Eco-Park to the public for a morning tour of the site and its operations on Saturday, June 6, from 8 to 11 a.m. This special open house will allow visitors to learn about the waste management process in Saint-Barthélemy and the various treatment stages carried out on-site. Staff members will present each process and explain how it works. The various roles performed by the site’s 53 employees will also be highlighted, along with all the equipment used. The Paprec Énergies site at the Ouanalao Environnement eco-park covers 1.5 hectares. In 2025, more than 22,000 tons of waste were processed there. In addition, the steam production system using the incinerators generated 392,109 cubic meters of water. More than 15,000 tons of waste were directly processed by the energy recovery plant.
Meanwhile, as part of “Ecology, Environment, and Biodiversity Week” and in collaboration with the Youth Territorial Council’s Environment Committee, chaired by elected official Sylvère Gréaux (Saint-Barth d’Abord), schoolchildren will be taking tours throughout the week of the Paprec Énergies site as well as the EDF power plant in Public.
