Saint-Barth - Beach Party 2019

Beach Party 2019

The Public festival will go ahead

It was originally scheduled for Thursday, August 15. Unfortunately, due to the meteorological effects of storm Ernesto, the Public association was forced to cancel the event. Initially, fears that the festival would be cancelled for good and postponed until next year were expressed online by local residents. In the end, it will take place! It will take place on Saturday August 31.
As originally planned, a large-scale event will be held on the beach from 5 a.m. until 11 p.m.. With, as it should be, a multitude of activities. From deep-sea fishing to belote, beach volleyball, diving lessons, children's games, a tombola and, of course, music. All concocted by the Public Association (ASP).
Between 5 and 6 a.m., participants in the bottom fishing competition will set sail, returning to the quayside by midday. Participation in the competition is free of charge (maximum two adults and one child per boat, registration by August 30 with Thomas on 0690.48.50.42).
At 8 a.m., beach volleyball players will be expected to register for the tournament, which starts at 9 a.m. The belote tournament starts at 1:30 p.m. (Registration at 1 p.m., fee: 10 euros). Early registration for the beach volleyball tournament is possible (call 0690.33.06.00). In the meantime, the first diving initiation will take place at 8:30 am. The next ones will be at 10.30 a.m. and 3 p.m. The activity is free for those aged 8 and over (please register with Thomas on 0690.48.50.42).
Children can start playing games on the beach at 10 am. An hour later, at 11 a.m., the catering will begin with Zic'Top. A few minutes later, a vin d'honneur will be served to participants by the Collectivité. Music will be provided by the JFF Band.

An anthology tombola
From 2 p.m., games will be available for children and adults alike. At 4 p.m., children and adults will be able to take part in a variety of activities, including a bubble show at 4:30 p.m.
And what about the competition prize-giving ceremony? Well, that will take place at 5:30 p.m., alongside the opening of the catering area. Then it's time for the Super Tombola, with a draw at 6pm. Tickets cost just five euros. A worthwhile investment, since there are some very attractive prizes to be won. First prize is a cruise for two, worth 2,000 euros. The second prize isn't too shabby either: two round-trip plane tickets to Puerto Rico, Antigua or St. Thomas (courtesy of Tradewind). Third prize? Two round-trip tickets again, but this time to Pointe-à-Pitre (courtesy of Saint-Barth Executive), plus two nights' accommodation worth 300 euros (courtesy of Sibarth Real Estate). And it continues with the fourth prize: two return flights (Winair) and two hotel nights at 300 euros (Solutech and Saint-Barth Cleaning Pool). In all, ten prizes are up for grabs.
Finally, the Fête de Public will conclude with a musical performance by artist Natoxie, from 7 to 11 p.m.
Please note that ASP volunteers will be manning the refreshment stand throughout the day.
