This Sunday, August 25, Corossol hosts the traditional Saint-Louis Festival. It promises to be a busy day, with a wide range of activities on offer.
The day kicks off at 6 a.m. with the start of a fishing trip for garfish (registration at the beach, 10 euros per boat). This will be followed by a mass at the foot of the Saint-Louis rock in honor of the elders, at 8 a.m., just before a procession. At 9:30 a.m., a belote competition will be held, for which you'll need to register 30 minutes early (entry fee: 10 euros). Prizes will be awarded at the end of the competition. After the belote, there's table soccer, with a tournament starting at 10 a.m. (registration on site at 9 a.m., 10 euros per team).
From 10.30 a.m. to 11.30 a.m., children's games will be on offer before the sale of meals begins at midday. A vin d'honneur will be organized at 12:30 by the Collectivité and the Corossol association. A musical "punch" with the Saint-Thomas orchestra playing from 1 to 3 pm.
The shuffleboard competition is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. (registration at 1 p.m., 10 euros per team of two) and will be followed at 2 p.m. by a game of darts and the frog game. At 3.30pm, there will be more games for adults and children (skittle, skill, angling...).
The prize-giving ceremony for garfish fishing will take place at 6 p.m., followed at 7 p.m. by a show put on by ALC dancers. The Gongonnes take over for a traditional show. After the dance, the Saint-Louis lottery draw will take place at 8pm. Then, at 9 p.m., the final Doudous dance will precede the public ball on the Pont de la Jeunesse, to the rhythm of the tunes provided by the M Fire orchestra and DJ Vince.
A shuttle bus will run to and from the Saint-Jean beach parking lot between 4 p.m. and midnight. The refreshment stand will open at 9 a.m.
