Cem launches a study on passenger transport in Saint Barths

You've probably already experienced it: it's dinnertime, a reserved table is waiting for you at the restaurant, but once you're there, it's impossible to park. You drive around in circles for long minutes looking for a space, then finally you lose patience, and the evening is a bit spoiled.
To remedy these difficulties, the Chambre Économique Multiprofessionnelle (Cem) is launching a study on passenger transport in Saint Barthélémy. Many of the island's hotels, restaurants, shops and villas are finding that parking problems are having an impact on their clientele. The idea for Cem is to listen to their concerns and then make concrete proposals to the Collectivité to improve the situation.
The study was entrusted to DROP - 971, with Denis Record and Olivier Pachodey as consultants. This is the same firm that studied the introduction of a shuttle service between Saint-Jean and Gustavia, the test phase of which should begin at the end of November, according to President Xavier Lédée.
The first stage, which will run until December, consists of meetings with the professionals concerned, including hotels, shops, restaurants and villas. But also representatives of the transport sector, such as cabs, as well as elected representatives. The results of the study should be presented to the Cem in January 2026.
A 20-question online survey is also available to Saint Barth residents. It will enable us to find out how residents and tourists get around the island, so that we can adapt the solutions proposed.
The questionnaire can be accessed by clicking on the attached link, and takes just a few minutes to complete.
