Since this Friday morning, the entrance to the path leading to Colombier beach, in Petite Anse in the Flamands district, is no longer accessible. A barrier has been installed across the path, just before the rock in front of the signposts. The three large signs fixed to concrete blocks read: "Private property, no entry without owner's authorization" and "Green zone". Each in French and English.
Contacted by JSB, the director of the Agence territoriale de l'environnement, Sébastien Gréaux, points out that the ATE was not behind the installation of the barrier. "It was not the ATE that proceeded with the closure," asserts the director, adding: "The owner submitted a prior request to fence off a plot of land a little further away, as he wanted to prevent stray animals from passing through. The ATE agreed, on condition that he left a space for people to pass through.
For the time being, access to the path is therefore blocked. People wishing to go to Colombier beach can therefore no longer take the path from Petite Anse, but must go via the Colombier heights.
