In Corossol, the origin of the water flow under study

For weeks, water continuously ran down the road in Corossol. This became a source of concern and then annoyance for some of the neighborhood's residents. The "leak," which was not actually a leak, seemed to originate just after the grocery store and then flowed along the concrete road. Sometimes in quantities that caught the residents' attention. The road became dangerous because it was slippery, while the accumulation of stagnant water encouraged the development of mosquito breeding grounds. On Tuesday, January 20, two territorial councilors, Alexandra Questel and Rudi Laplace, as well as the director of the environment department, Frantz Dillard, visited the site. The latter had already come to take readings at a resident's home to ensure that the runoff was not coming from there. Jeannot Danet, a former territorial councilor between 2007 and 2017, joined the group and, for him, there is no doubt: the runoff comes from a water table located under the hill. "We already had this problem with water runoff in 2010 and 2014," he said, showing photos as proof. "There was a very large leak." The runoff could therefore be coming from a large building plot (1,093 square meters) owned by the local authority. The possibility of conducting a hydrogeological study has been put forward. As has the possibility of building a collection well if a water table is indeed present. Rudi Laplace suggests starting by taking readings when the water starts flowing again, in order to determine its composition. It will then be time to push ahead with further research.
