On Tuesday, July 7, from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m., a civil protection drill will be held at the Saint-Barthélemy Airport. During this drill, the ORSEC (Civil Protection Response Organization) plan will be simulated at the airport. Government agencies, security and emergency response forces, health services, local authorities, Saint-Barthélemy Airport staff, the Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting Service (SSLIA), the airlines involved, and accredited civil security associations will be mobilized for this training exercise. As in a real-life event, this exercise will test the implementation of specific provisions of the ORSEC plan, the activation of the “Plan Blanc,” the flow of information within the chain of command, as well as the coordination and scaling up of operational resources for rescue, assistance, and victim care. No specific action is expected from the public. Please do not call emergency numbers during this exercise, and avoid traveling to or parking near the airport while it is underway.
