Transat Paprec - A fierce fight for the podium

The suspense has rarely been so intense in the Transat Paprec. A few hours before the finish, it was still impossible to say who would be on the podium. While the Skipper Macif crew gradually broke away from the fleet, the next four boats were advancing in a pack towards Saint Barth. Among them: Cap Saint Barth, Décrochons la Lune, Selencia - Cerfrance, and Demain. As they approached Saint Barthélemy, the Cap Saint Barth duo cut inside, which allowed them to take a slight lead over Selencia - Cerfrance. After a legendary comeback four days ago, the Décrochons la Lune crew finally won second place, after 18 days, 19 hours, 59 minutes, and 35 seconds. "After three weeks at sea, we arrived in less than ten minutes," emphasized Irina Gracheva, alongside Romain Bouillard. Barely three minutes later, the Cap Saint-Barth crew crossed the virtual finish line near Gros Ilet. They narrowly snatched that podium spot, as fourth place went to the Selencia-Cerfrance crew (Maël Garnier and Catherine Hunt), who finished just 35 seconds behind. With such a close margin between the competitors, this edition has already gone down in Transat Paprec history. Of the 17 crews still in the race, 16 are expected to cross the finish line in under four hours.
