Transat Paprec - Skipper Macif wins the 17th edition

The outcome was unpredictable just a few hours ago. But this Friday morning, it was the Skipper Macif crew who crossed the finish line first in this 17th edition of the Transat Paprec. After 18 days, 19 hours, 16 minutes, and 54 seconds of racing, the duo of Charlotte Yven and Hugo Dhalenne emerged victorious in this eventful race. This is a second victory in a row for Charlotte Yven from Morlaix, who already won the last edition of the Transat Paprec alongside Loïs Berrehar. At the same time, the sailor becomes the first woman to win this trophy twice. "I never imagined I'd win twice, I'm incredibly happy and proud to share this with Hugo," said the skipper in the port of Gustavia.
Described as the race favorites, the Skipper Macif crew quickly established themselves as strong contenders in this race. Throughout the course, Charlotte Yven and Hugo Dhalenne positioned themselves in the top three before the rankings were reversed four days from the finish. "We found it a bit long, there wasn't much wind, super shifty wind," described Charlotte Yven. "We adapted, we held on!" The duo, however, managed to extricate themselves from this lull zone that blocked all the candidates in the final hours of the race, to head off as leaders towards Saint-Barth. "We didn't give up a meter, we didn't drop a single sargasso, we didn't let go of a single gust," explained Hugo Dhalenne with a smile. Until the last moment, the Skipper Macif crew had no idea of ??their ranking since they didn't have access to their positioning. "We even wondered if Cap Saint-Barth wasn't ahead of us," recalls Charlotte Yven. Through their commitment and hard work, it was the Skipper Macif duo who were the first to be welcomed to the port of Gustavia.
