Thomas and Cindy are likely to be lonely without their travelling companion. Since the start of the race, they had regularly sailed close to the Région Normandie crew. But late this Tuesday afternoon (Paris time), Jules Ducelier and Sophie Faguet announced to management that they were abandoning the race. The reason for this decision: the impossibility of repairing their two A2 spinnakers, damaged in recent days. The crew, who were flying the colors of Normandy, were one of the favorites in this race. The two sailors had been in the "top 10" since the start of the race off the Portuguese coast, and were still in 3rd place yesterday morning. But without a spinnaker, it's impossible to cross the Atlantic, or it takes far too long. This is the second retirement of the race, following that of Arno Biston and Vittoria Ripa Di Meana (Article.1), who also had their spinnaker torn.
Jules Ducelier et Sophie Faguet (Région Normandie) ont abandonné la course au bout de dix jours.
