Saint-Barth - CTTSB point d'accueil

A new reception point at the ferry terminal

Since the passage of Hurricane Irma in September 2017, the Comité du tourisme has no longer had a reception point near the ferry terminal. As a result, a new structure in the form of a kiosk has been erected just opposite the station. As the work nears completion, CTTSB president Alexandra Questel explains: "Welcoming our visitors had become a challenge, as the Comité du Tourisme is not strategically located, nor easily spotted by those disembarking at the ferry terminal. As a result, visitors had to look around, get lost, and end up asking our shopkeepers directly. They responded kindly, yes. But that's neither their role, nor a sustainable solution. That's precisely why, in the absence of any plans to rebuild the new tourist office opposite the harbor master's office, we worked to create a central reception point immediately outside the ferry terminal. A visible, obvious place, designed to smooth arrival and make information accessible. "
It's a surprising choice, particularly in this digital age. On this point, Alexandra Questel asserts that the CTTSB wanted to "bet on the human touch, because Saint-Barth can't be explained in an application".
The new reception point is designed to guide visitors, present the island through historical tours of Gustavia and highlight emblematic sites, present the services offered by the island's professionals in a straightforward manner and answer any questions visitors may have.
