From New York to Monaco, the CTTSB promotes Saint-Barthélemy

In September, the Comité territorial du tourisme de Saint-Barthélemy continued its mission to "promote the destination" by taking part in three events abroad.
These operations enabled the committee's teams to meet tourism industry professionals - journalists, travel agents, ship brokers, captains and representatives from other territories - at meetings organized in Monaco, New York and Toronto.
The CTTSB insists that "these meetings are essential" to "present the reality of the territory (its workings, its history, its challenges), to change industry practices and to learn from each other".The CTTSB stresses that "these meetings are essential" to "present the reality of the region (how it works, its history, its challenges), to exchange ideas on industry practices and learn about the expectations of professionals, and to create direct links with the influencers who guide travelers throughout the year".
In New York and Toronto, the aim was to regain control of the message conveyed about Saint-Barthélemy, "by getting away from the festive clichés often associated with the destination". Narcisse Dupré-Paule, deputy director of the CTTSB, assures us that these exchanges "enabled us to promote a more respectful and qualitative approach to tourism, emphasizing the importance of attracting conscious and committed visitors, rather than aiming for an increase in visitor volume".
Our participation in the Monaco Yacht Show is part of our desire to consolidate our ties with the nautical sector, a historic pillar of the island's tourism model. "Faced with growing competition from other destinations, it is essential to better inform the professionals who market Saint-Barthélemy, so that they too can move beyond representations limited to a festive image centered on December 31," explains Narcisse Dupré-Paule.
Alexandra Questel, President of the CTTSB, comments: "These meetings were an opportunity to talk about our island, our history, the people who make it up, but also our dynamic tourism sector. Whether it's our boutiques, our hotels, our villa rental companies, our car rental companies, our restaurants, our nautical offer, our airlines or our private services, it's all these components that make Saint-Barth tourism and the destination shine. This is the message we convey when we travel: to convey the soul of Saint-Barthélemy, its history and its values. Saint-Barth is this group of players. "
In his first year in his new role, Narcisse Dupré-Paule believes he has "experienced these meetings as powerful moments of sharing". This gives "real meaning" to the mission of the committee, which "is not there to sell a product, but to share the history of the island and support the destination, with the invaluable help of our local partners", recalls the deputy director.
