Vincent Beauvalet took part in 4 of the 15 or so stops around the world on the PWA IWT World Tour. In March, in Puerto Rico, he finished 1st in the Masters class and 3rd in the Pro men's class. At the Grand Canaria Pozo in July, he finished 9th in the Masters and 33rd in the Pro men's event. In August, he headed for Tenerife, but was unable to compete due to wind and wave conditions. Unfortunately, I travelled for nothing, as there was no wind or waves," he explains. This cost me the title, as I wasn't able to score any points. What's more, I broke my ankle in training, which handicapped me for the grand final in Hawaii. "
For the grand finale, the best windsurfers gathered from October 13 to 24 at Ho'okipa Beach Park, the birthplace of contemporary surfing in Maui, for the 2025 edition of the Aloha Classic. In both men's and women's categories, the world's finest surfers battled it out for the world title. Among the 189 participants, Saint-Barthélemy was represented in the Masters (+45 years) and Pro Men classes by Vincent Beauvarlet, who attacked this final stage in fourth place.
Vincent finished this final stage of the world circuit in 25th place in the Pro Men and 5th place in the Masters. Marking additional points for the world ranking.
World ranking
With only 4 world tour appearances to his name, Vincent Beauvalet takes third place in the Masters. Spain's Michaël Friedl retains his Masters world title. The podium is completed by Puerto Rican Charlie Rovira.
I took part with a bad ankle, bad support and a lot of pain," explains Vincent Beauvarlet. Despite the strappings from the physiotherapists, it was still very painful. As a result, I couldn't attack in the beautiful waves and conditions we had in Hawaii. I finished 5th in this leg behind the Hawaiians. The competition from the Hawaiians was tough and, being handicapped by my ankle, I couldn't give it my all. It was hard physically and morally not to be at 100%. It's a respectable result for the season, it's true, but I'm very frustrated. "
