The annual end-of-year parade for yachts of all sizes is changing date this year. "We've decided to move the Around-the-Island event to December 30," explains Mark DelGiudice, co-organizer with the Saint Barth Yacht Club. "In recent years, several large yachts have expressed an interest in taking part. However, logistically, it was difficult for them to complete the race and prepare for the New Year's Eve festivities," adds Mark DelGiudice.
At the time of writing, the yachts Symmetry, Aurelius, Phado, Ticonderoga, Juno and Mialia are entered. However, organizers remain optimistic about adding more boats as they arrive in Saint-Barth to celebrate New Year's Eve. Registration will take place on December 29, from 6pm to 8pm at the Saint Barth Yacht Club in Public. The race will start at 10 a.m. on December 30. The prize-giving ceremony and cocktail reception will be held at 4pm at the Saint Barth Yacht Club. "We're looking forward to a fantastic event this year! ", says DelGiudice. "We'll see how it goes and decide which date will work best for us in the future! "For more information, contact the SBYC by e-mail (sbyc@wanadoo.fr) or by telephone on 0590 27 70 41.
