A national mini-basketball festival

Entertainment was provided on Sunday May 25 on the basketball court at the Plaine des Jeux in Saint-Jean. The event was part of the national mini-basketball festival for under-9s organized by the French Basketball Federation. All clubs were invited to create their own event, with the aim of introducing the youngest players to the discipline and the club. On Sunday afternoon, more than a dozen children aged 3 to 8 took part, most of them unlicensed members of the club. On the program: drawing competition, games with and without balls, led by coach Simon Malbranche and Raoul Ramdine. General manager of SMUC (Stade marseillais université club), the latter is present on the island to run a "camp" open to players in categories ranging from under-9s to under-15s. The camp began on Monday May 26 and ends on Friday May 30.
