With 17 triathletes competing in the Ultra Michelob Boardwalk Triathlon in Sint Maarten, organized by Tri-Sport, Saint Barthélemy was well represented on Sunday, June 7.

Olympic-distance podium, H40+ category: 2nd: Alwin Hylkema (2:34:18), 1st: Grégory Pigeon (2:16:44), 3rd: Renaud Liou (2:42:15).
Of the 35 athletes registered individually for the Olympic distance (1,500m swim, 40km bike, and 10km run), 10 were from Saint Barthélemy. Notable performances came from Jean-Marc Outil, Fabien Husson, and Jean-Yann Bouchaut, who finished in the top 10 of the overall standings. On the women’s side, Jessica Pearson Outil placed second overall with a time of 3:26:19.
Among the seven triathletes from Saint-Barth registered for the Sprint (750m swim, 20km bike, and 5km run), Matthieu Chassaigne was the first to cross the finish line out of 43 participants, with a time of 1:10:12.

Clémentine Guinet and Nicolas Ganzer, finishers of the Ironman 70.3 Alghero (Italy)
8,000 kilometers away, in Italy, more specifically in Alghero (on the northwest coast of Sardinia), two other triathletes from Saint Barthélemy, Clémentine Guinet and Nicolas Ganzer, took the starting line alongside the 2,276 registered athletes for the Half Ironman, which consisted of a 1.9 km swim, a 90 km bike ride, and a 21.1 km run. Clémentine Guinet finished the Ironman 70.3 after 5 hours, 35 minutes, and 8 seconds, followed by Nicolas Ganzer (5 hours, 59 minutes, and 33 seconds). The race was won by Belgian Joran Driesen with a time of 3 hours, 38 minutes, and 29 seconds.
