On Sunday June 1, nine SB Triathlon triathletes lined up at the start of the Sint Maarten Boardwalk, organized by Tri-Sport, for the Olympic (1500m swim, 40km bike and 10km run) and Sprint (750m swim, 20km bike and 5km run) formats.
In the Sprint format, with a time of 1h:08:20, Matthieu Chassaigne (Saint Barth Triathlon) was the first to cross the line from the 30 registered competitors. With a time of 1h:28:02, Joy Berlemont. took second place in the 19-39 age group. In their first race, Yann Vasseur and Eva Roger finished with respective times of 1h35:55 and 1h48:13.
Of the 30 triathletes registered for the Olympic distance, six came from Saint-Barth. Pierre Chassaigne, Olivier Basset, Liou Renaud, Jean-Edmond Amblard, Sylvain Guy and Alexandre Gréaux. The race was won by Greg Pigeon (SXM Tri Academie - 2h 11:33), 15 minutes ahead of runner-up Maxime Kruszewska. Pierre Chassaigne (2h35:32) finished 4th overall and 1st in his 50/59 age category. He was followed by Olivier Basset (2h38:04) 5th overall and 2nd in his category. Another fine performance by Renaud Liou (2h40:31), who finished 7th overall and 3rd in his category. In 11th place was Jean Edmond Amblard (2h57:19). 17th Sylvain Guy (3h06:34) and 22nd Alexandre Gréaux (3h18:31).

Hyrox Contest in aid of Handi Relais
The collaboration between the Handi-Relais association, Zion Gym and SB Triathlon triathlete Pierre Chassaigne (JSB1617) continues on June 14 with a "Hyrox Contest". A competition combining running and physical exercise, in mixed teams of two. "The funds raised by this event will finance the purchase of launching chairs for people with reduced mobility, so that everyone can enjoy the beach," explains Pierre Chassaigne. Open to all, this competition will also be an opportunity to raise awareness of disability among able-bodied people, with the participation of members of the Handi Relais association.
