In ten days' time, on April 20, the mixed crews in the 2025 edition of the Transat Paprec will leave the port of Concarneau to attempt to reach Saint-Barthélemy as quickly as possible aboard their Figaro. Among the nineteen duos, ten skippers are in the short list of under-26s. This includes Cindy Brin's teammate, Thomas André, who is 24 years old. Cindy isn't much older, at just 28. In the small group of youngsters, the tandem formed by Anaëlle Pattush and Hugo Cardon (Humans in Action) tops out at 22, while Ellie Driver and Oliver Hill (Women'ss engineering society), aged 23 and 24 respectively, raise the average slightly, as do Maël Garnier (24) and Catherine Hunt (25). The prize for youth goes to the couple Tiphaine Rideau and Pier-Paolo Dean who, at just 19 and 20, are about to embark on a wild adventure.
On the starting line, Saint-Barthélemy will be represented by the President of the Collectivité, Xavier Lédée, the Port Director, Ernest Brin, David Blanchard (territorial councillor in charge of Magali Maxor (head of the associations and sports department), Shirley Brin Dufay for the Comité du Tourisme and several representatives of the Chambre économique multiprofessionnelle.
On the finish line, the Transat village will be open from May 6 until the 12th. Throughout the race, the island's schoolchildren will be following the progress of one of the crews, chosen by lottery.
In a few days' time, Cindy Brin and Thomas André will set sail from Cap Saint-Barth. With a whole island to support them as they cross the Atlantic. It goes without saying that the Journal de Saint-Barth will provide, as it does every year, a daily update on the progress of the race.

Cap Saint-Barth boat also featured on Virtual Regatta online game
Cindy Brin and Thomas André won't be the only ones sailing under the colors of Saint-Barth. Sailing enthusiasts taking part in the virtual Paprec Transat can choose to compete aboard an exact replica of the Cap Saint-Barth, with the same boat and, above all, the same decorations. An unprecedented partnership between the Collectivité de Saint-Barth and the famous French game offers this possibility to participants. "This formula allows all those who feel concerned by Saint-Barth to participate fully in the Transat," enthuses Jean-Christophe Chrétien, project coordinator. Players who opt for Cindy and Thomas's virtual Figaro Beneteau 3 will also be able to enter a specific ranking, in addition to the general ranking. "Skippers will even be able to measure themselves against the real Cap Saint-Barth boat," points out Jean-Christophe Chrétien, since the positioning of the Figaro boats in the Transat Paprec will be included on the virtual platform. If the Saint-Barths get into the spirit of the game, there will be plenty of pelicans overlooking the waves.
