Wearing bib number 2054, Tom José Rua Da Fonseca took his place at the starting line of the Medellín Marathon in Colombia on Sunday, September 6. Running at an average pace of 6’06 per kilometer, the 4Running St. Barth member crossed the finish line after 4h17’24” of racing.
“He had been sick for several days and was unsure whether to start,” the club said in a statement. “But the encouragement from club members showed just how much solidarity and morale matter. Not only did he start, but he even finished.” The club is happy to welcome all runners, but it’s always a source of pride when one of us achieves a goal and we gain a new marathon runner. We’ll see you at the community organizations fair on September 12.”
