Tessa Thyssen, the Caribbean's top ranked female surfer, has set her sights high for the 2025 season. With a thirteenth-place finish in last year's Challenger Series, the Saint-Barthélemy representative intends to do even better this year. Unfortunately, the start to her season has not been as encouraging as hoped. From June 2 to 8, the first stage of the circuit took place in Newcastle, Australia. Tessa Thyssen finished 25th. From June 30 to July 6, South Africa and the Ballito Pro hosted the second round of the Challenger Series. Once again, the Ajoe Reefer Surf Club licensee suffered a premature elimination and finished 26th in the rankings. A "hard blow", as the champion admits, who is now trying to "refocus". This week, she takes part in the World League's QS (Qualifying Series) in Lacanau. Tessa Thyssen will then fly to the United States for the third leg of the Challenger Series, to be held at the legendary site of Huntington Beach, California, from July 29 to August 3.
