Surfing - Tessa Thyssen qualifies for the Challenger Series

Although there was little doubt that Tessa Thyssen would take part in the Challenger Series Tour 2025, she had to wait for the official announcement of her qualification before rejoicing publicly. The Caribbean's leading surfer in the world rankings, Tessa had finished the 2024 season in 13th place in the Challenger Series rankings. Her best result ever. Needless to say, she's hoping to do even better this year, with her sights set on a top 10 or even top 5 finish. Whether it's New Castle in Australia, the Ballito Pro in South Africa, Huntington in California, Ericeira in Portugal or Saquarema in Brazil (all five stages of the circuit), Tessa will have just one thing on her mind: to reach the next level. Every competition will count towards her main goal: qualifying for the 2028 Olympic Games.
