After a somewhat frustrating start to the season for Tessa Thyssen, the champion is preparing to enter the fray this Friday for the third leg of the Challenger Series. The event began yesterday, Wednesday July 30, and is due to finish on August 3. It takes place on the legendary site of Huntington Beach, California. For this competition, Tessa Thyssen benefits from top seed status, which will enable her to enter the second round. She will take to the water in round 8, facing Brazilian Laura Raupp and Basque Nadia Erostarbe and Annette Gonzalez Etxabarri. Last year, the member of the Reefer Surf Club in Saint-Barth finished in 9th place, but not without a few impressive results. In particular, she disposed of surfing legend Sally Fitzgibbons, before defeating Sophie Medina. After a 25th place in Newcastle (Australia) and a 26th in South Africa, Tessa Thyssen is hoping to get back to her best on a spot she loves.
