Anaïs Blanchard hasn't missed a beat at the start of her competition. This Thursday in Pantìn, Galicia (Spain), the former captain of the French junior team entered the Abanca Pantin Classic Galicia Pro in the eighth series. The Ajoe Reefer Surf Club licensee finished in second place behind another Frenchwoman, Maelys Jouault, by just a few hundredths. Enough to qualify for the round of 16 on this stage of the Qualifying Series (QS) international professional circuit. Tomorrow or Saturday, depending on the weather, Anaïs will be up against another Frenchwoman, Sarah Leiceaga, as well as two Portuguese players, Maria Salgado and Mafalda Lopes, in the seventh series of the women's draw.
Thomas on hold, Noé in top form
On the men's side, while Thomas Lédée is still waiting to take to the waves (heats were halted late this afternoon due to weather conditions), his brother Noé confirmed his current excellent form by qualifying for the round of 16. After dominating his first heat on Wednesday, he managed to take second place in the heat he contested on Thursday. Tomorrow, he takes to the water with France's Renan Grainville and two Portuguese sailors, Francisco Ordonhas and Frederico Morais.
