Saint-Barth - rugby rascasses

Women's rugby - Entente îles du Nord above Bruc

After a surprise victory in Les Abymes a few weeks ago, the Entente Feminine des Iles du Nord confirmed their current good form with another 31-17 win over Guadeloupe runners-up Le Bruc at Bellevue in Saint Martin on Saturday.
The "entente des Iles du Nord", made up of the Rascasses from Saint Barth and the Archigirls from Saint Martin, certainly reached a milestone last Saturday on the Bellevue pitch with another victory over the Bruc from Abymes, the 2nd in 2 matches. With a score of 31-17, the Iliennes from the north validated the progress made since last year by coach Fabien Maurel and his staff: "The hardest thing is to repeat the good things, you need a certain strength of character, confidence and cohesion.... match after match, the girls are picking up a bit of all that. I saw a lot of self-sacrifice and a lot of encouragement in the weaker moments, which I liked, it shows a good collective state of mind. With this type of victory, the team is certainly asserting itself. I don't know how far the girls can go, but they'll surprise again. "If the adage of this agreement is #cestdubeauboulot , it should be recalled that it corresponds to a fine performance achieved by the Rascasses- Archigirls agreement, now a candidate for more than a third place on the podium at the end of the season. Team captain Alice Gatelier explains the team's rise to prominence: "Everyone is starting to integrate their role on the pitch, and it's thanks to the collective effort that we were able to take the score in our favor during the match. "For hooker Suellen Delafosse, who has been with the Barracudas since rugby school, the victory was anything but a fluke: "We knew that Bruc were coming with a vengeance, and that this match would be decisive for the rest of our season. Despite their 1st try, we didn't lose heart; on the contrary, we increased our intensity to show them that we could be just as dangerous as them, particularly in attack. "A fair analysis, which resulted in a number of successful tries for the Northern Isles. As Rose Richard, who played for the first time in the colors of the Northern Isles team last Saturday, testifies: "The atmosphere in the group is very good, with solidarity on the pitch and conviviality off it. The coaches and staff put us in the right frame of mind to succeed in our match, and I'd like to thank them, both Fabien and Denis. I couldn't have wished for a better start to my career with this team. "

This Saturday, Guadeloupe champions in Saint Jean
Now runners-up to table-toppers Good Luck Gosier, the Northern Isles team will take on the Guadeloupeans, who are still favourites in their own right, this Saturday in Saint Jean. We want to rise to the occasion," says captain Alice Gatelier, "despite our two wins over Bruc, nothing can be taken for granted in this championship. On the Gosier side, however, this encounter has been marked on the calendar for a long time: "We're keeping a close eye on the progress of this team, which we consider to be a title contender. We've been training hard to come back stronger in this X championship, and this match is almost a final before its time for us," concludes experienced Gosier player Pauline Lebreton. The Entente Iles du Nord vs. Good Luck Gosier match in Saint Jean this Saturday at 7 p.m. will feature the very best of what is currently on offer on the regional women's rugby circuit.
