For the 4th day of the senior rugby à XV championship, the Saint-Barths travel to Les Abymes to take on current league leaders Bruc.
Following their 35-5 home win over reigning champions Good Luck du Gosier in early December, the Barracudas will be up against another of the league's big guns this Saturday, Bruc des Abymes, a team who have had every success since the start of the season.
Remember the last time these two teams met on the Palais Royal pitch in Les Abymes? a ticket to the final of the 2024 championship was up for grabs, and it was the "Brucistes" who clinched it with a narrow 31-24 victory. But a new season means a new challenge, and a new story to write for the Barracudas 2025. If player-coach Romain Viriato's "ciels et blancs" travel with their full squad, it's a safe bet that the "Barras" could pick up one or more points from their trip to Abyssinia. Mathematically, the stakes in this match are simple: the Barracudas could take second place in the standings if they win, while a Bruc success would allow the Abymians to comfortably consolidate their position as leaders with a view to the play-offs. Rendezvous at 7pm this Saturday at the Valentin Claire complex in Palais Royal, Abymes, for what is sure to be the highlight of Day 4 of the senior rugby union championship.
