The Chambre économique multiprofessionnelle brought together nearly 70 companies at the Collège Mireille Choisy on Wednesday, November 12, for the Forum des métiers.

The event was of particular importance. Not only for the schoolchildren, but also for the island's businesses and, of course, for the Chambre économique multiprofessionnelle and the Collectivité territoriale. On Wednesday November 12, the Collège Mireille Choisy hosted the Forum des métiers. In a familiar environment, students were able to move from room to room to meet professionals who were able to take time out of their busy mornings to explain what they do.

We've been working on the organization of the Forum for six months now," explains Grégory Guérot, head of training at Cem. Nearly 70 companies are represented, covering 120 professions. At the previous forum, we were at around 80 trades. This shows that it's becoming increasingly important for companies to be able to exchange ideas with the island's young people. We have a lot of small businesses, which is a good thing. But to take part in the forum, they have to shut down their operations. It's complicated for them. So it's important for young people to participate and take advantage of this availability. "

From building trades to health, transport, catering, security, crafts, the environment and tourism, the choice is more than varied for secondary school students. "We don't have time to talk, we've got to get to Room 11," says a teenager who, along with her classmates, is making one visit after another. "I don't know what I want to do yet, so maybe this will help me," says one student, smiling and not at all worried. It remains to be seen whether, on leaving the Forum, he has a clearer idea of his professional future. But there's no real hurry.
