Pétanque: Diane Blanchard and Christine Bertin Qualify for the French Championship

“A source of immense pride for our club.” Saint-Barth Pétanque is clearly delighted that two of its members, Diane Blanchard and Christine Bertin, have qualified for the French Women’s Doubles Championship. They secured their spot last weekend on the courts at Espace Gambier, on the Saint-Jean sports field. The two champions will represent the Northern Islands (whose committee includes the clubs of Saint Martin and Saint Barthélemy) in Bergerac, France, on July 25 and 26. Saint-Barth Pétanque extends its congratulations to the runners-up, Sandrine Mangeant and Julie Peris, a member of the Amicale Bouliste de Saint-Barth.
This Saturday, Saint-Martin will host the qualifying tournament for the French Mixed Doubles Championship. Another exciting competition is on the horizon, before Saint-Barth organizes the men’s triples qualifying tournament (April 4) and the cadets’ tournament (April 5). On April 18 and 19, the Espace Gambier will host the Ti Moun Challenge, bringing together several pétanque schools from the Caribbean.
