Noé Lédée rides the big festive wave of the Imperial Moto Regional Open

Last weekend, on Lorient beach, it wasn't easy to find a spot of sand to lay down your towel. The reason for this was the huge popularity of the Imperial Moto Regional Open organized by the Ajoe Reefer Surf Club. On Saturday, February 21, and Sunday, February 22, in addition to the fifty or so participants in the competition, the event attracted many spectators. Many young people, of course, but not only. For two days, everyone wanted to cheer on and admire the surfing aces, from the youngest (under 12) to the oldest. But also to party and enjoy pleasant moments with friends or family.

Noé Lédée warming up
From their perch in the judges' booth, above the surf hut, the officials carefully observed the performances of the surfers throughout the competition. In the men's shortboard competition, Noé Lédée came out on top. This came as no surprise, given the level at which the 23-year-old champion competes. Competing in the World League Qualifying Series, Noé is warming up for the final stage of his season in Morocco on March 22. As a result, he had no intention of letting the opportunity to win at home pass him by. "This is the second medal I've won at home," he smiles. "It's always cool to have an event like this at home, with friends around. A big thank you to the volunteers, the Ajoe, and Imperial Moto. It's good training, with guys who surf really well. " In Morocco, Noé will be aiming to reach at least the semi-finals. This will enable him to break into the QS "top 7" and qualify for the main circuit. "I'm pretty confident, I've prepared well, I've got a good support team and I'm ready," he says. "I've got good coaches and I'm progressing quickly."
While the women's shortboard specialists did not have a competition this year, those who prefer longboarding were able to show off their talent. And on the waves of Lorient, it was Maureen Bourgailh who proved to be the most skilled. "I'm very happy," smiles the champion. "There weren't many waves for the final, but they were small longboard waves, so it was perfect. And with all my friends there too." Laughing, the young woman concludes: "Longboarding is the surf of kings!"
The awards ceremony, which took place at sunset, was an opportunity to celebrate the winners in each category. In particular, the youngest girls and boys were warmly applauded and congratulated.
The Territorial Open spectacle then continued with a small party organized by the main sponsor, Imperial Moto. As on the previous day, Saturday, the evening and night were hosted by DJ Hetr, Matt E Love, the Bitin Brass Band, and Omawav. Festive and competitive were the watchwords of the Ajoe Reefer Surf Club throughout the weekend.
