The Guadeloupe Open Regional Swimming Championships took place over three half-days, from June 26 to 28. After being crowned “King of the 3 km” last January in Guadeloupe (JSB1648), and then achieving the feat of swimming around the island of Saint Barthélemy in six hours, forty-eight minutes, and fifteen seconds in February (JSB1652), Lukas Outil, a member of the Saint Barth Natation club who is completing his lifeguard training at the CREPS Antilles Guyane in Guadeloupe, won no fewer than four Guadeloupe championship titles. He won gold medals in the 100-meter butterfly (1’07"06), the 800-meter freestyle (10’03"38), the 400-meter freestyle (4’41"98), and the 50-meter freestyle (25"27). He also won two silver medals in the 100-meter freestyle (56.09 seconds) and the 50-meter butterfly (27.67 seconds). “It’s been a wonderful end to the season for the club,” said the club president.
