On Sunday, January 11, Guadeloupe hosted the first swimming competition of the year: the Open Water Kings Cup. It took place on Tabarin Beach in Gosier. Two formats were offered, with or without fins, 1 km for the youngest and 3 km for the more experienced.
Lukas Outil was the fastest in the classic 3 km distance. A member of Saint-Barth Natation and Saint-Barth Triathlon, Lukas won the Coupe des Rois with a time of 37 minutes and 42 seconds, just 8 seconds ahead of Lukas Gabriel and 12 seconds ahead of Yron Cerif.
Jean-Marc Outil, lifeguard at the territorial swimming pool and president of Saint Barth Triathlon, explains: "Lukas is currently at Creps Antilles Guyane in Guadeloupe with Lou Autefault, also a member of Saint-Barth Natation. Both are training and preparing for their BPJEPS (Professional Certificate in Youth, Popular Education and Sports, editor's note) swimming exam next July. You have our encouragement."
