The SBTC's fanm djòk advance to the final

They were dreading their trip to Baie-Mahault to compete in the semi-finals of the Guadeloupe team championship. Their fears proved unfounded, as the four players from the Saint-Barth Tennis Club made short work of their opponents from the Sportif des Armées club! Perrine Rousson, Maëlle Servanton, Aïda Giraud, and Amélie Huart made no mistake, winning all five matches. Four wins in singles and one in doubles propelled them to the final of the second division championship. Better still, thanks to this performance, the SBTC has the satisfaction of seeing its women's team return to the first division. "A very fine performance," congratulated club manager Yves Lacoste.
The grand final is scheduled for Saturday, March 14, in Guadeloupe. The Saint Barth players will face those of the Amical Tennis Club du Gosier, a team they have beaten in the past, which suggests that the matches will be very open. In any case, for the SBTC fanm djòk, the season is already a success.

Semifinal results
Perrine Rousson – Estelle Kichenin: 7/5-6/3
Maëlle Servanton – Lætitia Ravel: 5/7-6/3-10/5

Mixed fortunes for the men's teams
In the men's competition, the Saint-Barth Tennis Club teams also made it to the semi-finals. Team 2, which is playing in the third division this season, has already secured its promotion to the higher division. But the players narrowly missed out on qualifying for the final. Last weekend in Saint-Martin, they lost (3-2) to TCSM. While Jean Cattiaux (6/4-6/4) and Martin Gamoral (6/7-6/1-10/7) won their singles matches, Hugo Saurel (1/6-1/6) and Michel Maurel (4/6-4/6) lost. The match was therefore decided in the decisive doubles match. However, Jean Cattiaux and Hugo Saurel were outclassed by their opponents Jean-Louis Virolan and Manuel Louis (6-0, 6-2).
The first team (Division 2) was scheduled to play its semifinal last weekend against Team 2 of the Amical Tennis Club de Baie-Mahault. The latter initially forfeited before reversing its decision and then forfeiting again. As a result, the match that was to be played this Saturday, March 7, in Saint-Jean will not take place. The SBTC first team (Grégory Thouin, Valentin Gosselin, David Ripoche, and Frédéric Gastaldi) has therefore qualified for the final, which it will play on Saturday, March 14, in Guadeloupe against the second team of the Tie Break Tennis Club of Petit-Bourg. The icing on the cake is that, without even playing, the team has secured its promotion to the first division, where it will compete next season.
