Village Club 2024 opens at 4 p.m. in Lorient

Delayed due to unfavorable weather conditions on Wednesday, the opening of the "Village Club 2024" on the Ajoe plateau in Lorient will take place this Thursday, August1. To enable the public to come together to watch the Paris Olympic Games events, the Collectivité territoriale and Ajoe, in partnership with the CTOS (Comité territorial olympique et sportif), have decided to offer a space where the sporting events will be broadcast live. A "fan zone" will be set up on the Ajoe plateau in Lorient, with free access for all. "Including accompanied minors", explains the local authority. This evening, Thursday August1, an event will be held from 5 to 10 p.m. to mark the official opening of the "Village". However, the site will be accessible from 4 p.m. onwards, and there will already be some entertainment on offer. Up to and including Saturday, surfing and swimming activities will be offered from 9 to 12 am on Lorient beach, and from 4 to 10 pm on the Ajoe plateau, where the Olympic events will be shown on a giant screen. Activities will be open to all (table tennis, archery, petanque, table soccer, relaxation area, video games, Olympic Games exhibition). The Saint-Barth Tennis Club will be offering free mini tennis activities today and tomorrow from 4 to 6 pm. In addition, visitors will be able to learn all about the history of the Olympic Games through panels set up under a large arbour.
