In an online announcement, the local government stated that the Saint-Jean Stadium will remain closed until September 25. This extended closure is necessary to carry out renovation work on the synthetic turf and the track. All facilities—stands, locker rooms, restrooms, and storage areas—will be closed to the public for the duration of the work. The French company Art Dan, which specializes in the installation of sports surfaces and green spaces, is in charge of the project. Destroyed in the wake of Hurricane Irma in September 2027, the stadium’s facilities had been renovated through a sponsorship agreement with businessman Roman Abramovich, who, through the company Becker Capital Investments Limited, had invested more than three million euros.
The 2026 initial budget adopted by the territorial council of the Collectivité allocates slightly more than 3.2 million euros for the maintenance and repair of sports facilities.
