It didn’t take long for St. Barth Sports to make a name for itself. Less than two weeks after its founding, the club already has 30 registered members across all sports and has completed its first weekend of competition, with athletes competing in the Cross du Vent in Saint Barthélemy and the Grand Case Triathlon in Saint Martin. With thirty members already, the new club aims to showcase the energy of its members and its athletic ambitions.
Gwendoline Thomas is a perfect example of this. In fact, the runner was the first female competitor to cross the finish line at the Cross du Vent on Sunday, October 18. Mélissa Guardiola took fourth place, followed by Laurine Di Scala in fifth. In the men’s race, Carlos da Silva also delivered a strong performance, finishing second behind Alexis Wozniak. “These are encouraging results for a club that has just launched and is already demonstrating its ability to bring together competitive athletes,” commented Matthieu Chassaigne.

Meanwhile, club representatives competed in the Grand Case Triathlon in Saint Martin. “In the S-distance race, which had 58 entrants, Matthieu Chassaigne delivered an excellent performance, finishing second overall and first in his age group,” the club noted. Pierre Chassaigne also distinguished himself with an eighth-place finish overall and a victory in his age group. The relay events also allowed the club to stand out. Olivia and Philippe finished third in the relay, while Hervé and Olivia placed fourth.”
Beyond the results, this first group outing reflects the enthusiasm surrounding the club’s launch and its commitment to actively participating in the sporting life of the Northern Islands.
