SBYC at the Opti Cup Cap D'Agde sailing festival

Eight young sailors from the Saint Barth Yacht Club's "Team compétition", accompanied by their coach Cindy Brin, headed for the French mainland to take part in the major international regatta on the official calendar of the French Sailing Federation (FFVoile). the Opti Cup, a major international regatta on the official calendar of the French Sailing Federation (FFVoile), to be held in Cap d'Agde from October 27 to 31. For 5 days, this major sailing event will transform the Cap d'Agde waterfront into a nautical capital for Optimist sailors aged 8 to 15. This international competition will bring together some 400 young sailors - 300 minimes and a hundred benjamins - from six countries: France (mainland and overseas), Belgium, Spain, Monaco, Sweden and Switzerland, with the aim of securing selection for the European or World Championships.
As a prelude, the young sailors took part in a week of intensive training with international coach Didier Butault, to familiarize themselves with the water, review certain maneuvers and fine-tune their preparation.
