Soccer - Inter-hotel Tournament: Eden Rock Aims for the Triple Crown

The third edition of the inter-hotel soccer tournament will take place this Saturday, March 21, at Saint-Jean Stadium. Starting at 6 p.m., seventeen teams representing nine hotels on the island will compete for the championship title. In the first two editions, a team from Eden Rock emerged victorious. This Saturday, the hotel intends to stack the odds in its favor to achieve a three-peat, as its colors will be defended by three teams. Le Barthélemy and Le Cheval Blanc will also field three teams to try to snatch the trophy that has sat atop the Saint-Jean rock for the past two years. This ambition is shared by Le Toiny (two teams entered), Gyp Sea (two teams), Carl Gustaf, Sereno, Christopher, and Guanahani.
The seventeen teams will be divided into four groups to face off in eight-minute matches. The top teams will then advance to a final round to play ten-minute matches, while the less successful teams will participate in a “consolation round.”
A refreshment stand and food service will be available on site. The primary goal is to raise funds to help finance part of the Saint-Barth Foot Challenge, the international tournament for players under thirteen organized in May by the Ajoe soccer section. A major event that, once again this year, will bring together clubs from Europe, the Caribbean, as well as South and North America. The field promises to be more competitive than ever!
