The Africa Cup of Nations is over, and for soccer fans, it's time to get back into local competitions. They kick off this Saturday, January 24, with the first day of the Saint Barth Cup. Two matches are scheduled on the artificial turf of the St. Jean stadium.
At 7 p.m., AS Gustavia will take on Arawak Football Club. Immediately following, at 9 p.m., the players of FC Diables Rouges will face ASPSB. This first round of the 2026 season will allow fans to gauge the strengths of each team. In 2025, Arawak FC won both the championship and the cup. There is no doubt that their opponents will be keen to snatch the trophies from them in 2026. This is particularly true of the Diables Rouges, who finished runners-up in 2025 despite beating the Arawaks in the opening game of the championship. Admission to the stands is free for both matches on Saturday.
