The Opti'mums, the accomplices on the run, the Mam's sœurs, the Rotary chatterboxes and the Guarapitas, all made it to the end of the adventure. And not without a great deal of effort and resilience. Because the Femina Adventure, organized from November 25 to 30 in Guadeloupe, is no walk in the park. A nature, sports and humanitarian raid that demands both physical and moral resources. Nanou and Axelle, Laura and Sarah, Julie and Julie, Aurore and Christelle, Dayana and Diana all rose to the challenge.
For the latter, Dayana Jimenez and Diana Duloste (La Guarapita Team), the result was more than satisfactory. Indeed, the two young ladies finished in 11th place overall (out of 57 teams) after the five-day event. What a performance! The other four teams from Saint-Barth were all in the same group. The Rotary pipelettes (Axelle and Nanou) finished in 41st place, just ahead of the complices de cavale (Aurore Questel and Christelle Gautier), the Mam's Sœurs (Laura Falco and Sarah Juaneda) and the Opti'mums (Julie Chevreul and Julie... Chevreul). It's hard to believe that the eight women didn't give each other an inch for the duration of the raid!
Strong solidarity
"We never gave up, right to the end," says Axelle Capelli, who, with Nanou, represented the Handi-Relais association during the raid. "Five days of surpassing ourselves, of tears, of pain... We made it to the final of the swimming event with the nénettes who won every day, the Salamandres friends. We're so proud. "And let's not forget that the Pipelettes gained eleven places in the overall ranking as the events progressed. What's more, they raised over 16,000 euros for the Handi-Relais association to help them buy an adapted vehicle. Hats off to them. As for all the island's representatives.
Swim and run, canyoning, swimming, trail running, canoeing-kayaking - nothing was spared for the adventurers. Neither the compulsory events nor the vagaries of the weather. During the trail race, for example, ten teams were stranded for over two hours in the forest due to heavy rain. "The fire department and race organizers were on hand to help us get through," comments Axelle on a video in which the faces we saw seem somewhat discomfited. But solidarity prevailed. "What's incredible is our friends who supported us, the Julie's, Laura and Sarah, Aurore and Christelle and the others", says Axelle.
Exhausted but "finished", they all returned to Saint-Barthélemy. With other desires for adventure? To be continued...
