Chess - Guillaume Berger wins the blitz championship

The 15th edition of the St Barth Blitz Championship, consisting of 7 rounds of 2x10 minutes, took place on Sunday at the Capitainerie. As with every edition, the championship featured some hard-fought games and a different champion. Defending champion Milo Scheeren lost in the first round to multiple champion and club president Jef Follner. Guillaume Berger, who came 3rd at the Piteå Day tournament in November, had a perfect round, winning 6 times and drawing once against Milo Scheeren, who finished 2nd ahead of Thimoté Bardon, another podium regular. In the ladies' category, the suspense lasted until the 7th round when young Hortense Lebrun got the better of Violetta Chepurniak.
